am aging yet another year in a moment's time.
taking some quiet time to reflect upon my life, i regret to say that i do not feel anymore wiser as i age. if anything, the cluelessness is overwhelming.
overly underwhelming is my life amongst a great universe of everything.
but as i try to appreciate what i have managed to crave out these past years, nothing in particular comes to mind. perhaps they were all reduced to dust. what use is any witness if all is naught.
ok, am looking ahead, to a happy day ahead. or dare i hope, year ahead.

let's continue where i left off.. hmmm, patho exams. so after some rather useless lectures and us ponning, we had our CHP (community health project) meeting, haha. more work. yes, then it was dinner with weili and nick, albeit an extremely rushed one cuz of the jam at orchard!! grrr, and so, we were late for the movie, national treasure. i must say it was quite enjoyable despite the ridiculous ending! haha.. the villain was not v convincing - he certainly wasn't evil enough. but the movie was far from boring..
after the movie nick and weili came over to my place for some halo 3 and guitar heroes 3.. fun-nest esp since new HD TVs arrived so we could play on the 47' glorious screens compared to the previous 32' or sth. after which zp joined us, and we just played random games, getting owned by nick in halo, but then, nick was getting owned in guitar heroes, so well, alls fair.. ;) zp and nick stayed over, as i ponned sch the next day :p we need a break rite?! and yes, we finished the last 2 stages of halo on legendary, and the cough i had developed prior to patho turned into a sputtering mess due to my lack of slp, and what's worse, i am sputtering more than ever now. i feel like i can cough out my lungs soon if this keeps up.
yes, and then came friday! after more meetings and what not, weili, ian and i went to biopolis for lunch. chanced upon this indian restaurant tt was rather value for money. even though i have no idea what most of those dips were, well, some of them were fairly tasty. all this for like $5? i think. haha.and then after dinner, zp and i and weili went over to nick's place for some PS3.. haha, i am quite inept at fifa, except perhaps at fouling. haha! but yes, it was quite exciting nonetheless.weili left at one. after one was some cards, its been a long while! there was a long and exciting game of hearts, where zp was desperately trying to kill me, but thru trickery and shooting the moon, his hopes were shattered :p but soon, it was breakfast at 3.30am and off to the airport! and then at 5am, jonas (nick's brother) finally pried himself away from nick sadly so that he could go into the gantry. haha, it was a long nite, but well spent. and gee, me having to wake up early for tennis the next day was disastrous, the continued lack of slp probably did this to me.. :(
on saturday or sunday (i can't quite remember what i've been up to), i think i went out to catch the movie eastern promises after some tennis. i liked the film! but then again, i like the director's productions. it was semi glory, although yihan, yuan and cm seem to think it is far worse than tt, but yes, the characters were well fleshed out, and i like that you had to think in the movie, interpret, rather than just sit there and watch. after the movie, went over to yihan's place for really long games of spades and hearts. spades was torturous due to SOMEONE's lousy bidding, and it was such an incredibly long tussle. grrrr. hearts was just sad because someone was lousy and trying to protect the lousy person failed and proved costly in the end.. :( well, at least i managed to aid yuan to triumph over cm eventually :p yes, yet another late nite, contributing more to my state now. sigh.
think this was monday? uh huh, after sch, we headed down to wild rocket at mount emily for some rather delicious food! :)this was my starter for the set lunch - pumpkin soup. done quite well, but nothing special..
these golden crispy mushrooms drizzled with melted cheese however, were so much better and were absolutely juicy!! :D

kenrick's main... salmon.. he was pressing it to show me how the juices were oozing out. lol! but nah, salmon is overserved!
my chilli crabmeat linguine! YUM! the linguine took up the thick tomato stripped crabmeat paste so well, and every mouthful was delightful. however, it was really rich for a tomato based pasta!
michelle's soft boned pork risotto - i love risottos, and this looked quite good, but sadly, i didn't get to try it :p
evange's pasta.. i forgot what this was, but it was a good mix of seafood and it smelled heavenly
ian's spinach cream pasta.. it tasted, really creamy!

ok, that is enough food pix for a while.. :p eh, i feel sad that i can't remember what else happened the rest of the week other than work - looks like i need this blog more than ever since my memory is deteriorating faster than ever :X ok, whatever, after the pilot survey etc, we got down to dinner with wp and claire at dempsey. wp wanted to go there since her dad was teasing her abt her lack of hipness, having not been there b4. we wanted to head down to au petite salut, but it was just fully booked! so instead, we headed down to la fabrique, an italian restaurant. the decor was interesting, with a really high roof and interesting graffiti art on the ceiling!
the food was not bad.. this was wp's squid ink pasta with lobster - you bet tt it cost a bomb!my pappardelle, with some sorta duck was really good.. :) loved the sauce and the duck was almost as tasty as my fav duck confit! :D
after dinner, craving for some dessert, we headed down to canele at paragon and ordered damn a lot of food! 2 cakes, 4 macaroons, an ice cream and a big ass meringue.
the desserts were all v good, except maybe the meringue which was just way too sweet! arrgh! haha. otherwise, although a lil pricey, they were fantastic :) the chocolate cake was rich and soo chocolatey! and till now, i've not really had v nice macaroons and always had the impression that they were hard biscuit like things, till i tried these..! fantastic.. :)

the new year..
back, after a busy few weeks.. :) am not back with a million pix this time though, not to worry.. ;)
ok, from where i left off.. this was at whit's house during her xmas party.. the house was nice decorated, and certainly, the food and tree brought out the festive season so well :Dsuper act cute!!
arggh? k was just damn tired from the long day. was quite sad i missed the food which was apparently pretty good! there was ham, turkey and chicken, and well lotsa other things. but i was too full to eat anymore..
repeat pix? but the flash was just lousy. haha
i think that week was mugging week or sth.. i can't remember what i did. except tt i burnt a hefty sum at the Zara sale.. the first days are always so tempting. there are always still some sizes that I can wear, so i am just 'inclined' to buy things.. guess their ploy worked.. :p
then on another day (30th dec), we went down to catch Maria Sharapova Live.. what a stupid name honestly. its not like she can play a match by herself. the damn national stadium - it was so irritating, pouring like mad, yet the retarded guards fenced up the only way to walk to the restaurants that is sheltered. we ended up having 7-11 for dinner, how pathetic was tt?! well, cm and yuanhong had tix together, whilst my tix was with the other tennis guys, so after our hasty 7-11 dinner (grr), i met the other guys b4 heading in.yes, they were super on, and made a huge sign for the underdog - anna chadvetadze. haha, it had to be the hugest sign in the stadium, and she waved when she saw.. :p

this was shi being interviewed by the new paper - apparently, his quote came out in the papers. but whatever it was, it was certainly not v memorable since i have no impression anymore

this was the final score.. the first set was really, not very interesting as u can see from the scoreline. but things started getting more intense towards the end, where rallies got longer, and you can finally see their true abilities on display. i think that what the pros do so much better than us ordinary folk, is their ability to hit while being off balance, i.e. being stretched by their opponents. while most of us would put a tame ball into the net, these players can give some back, with extra heat! coolness. yes, i truly enjoyed myself, though as usual, i was supremely tired. sighs!
and so it came to new year's eve, then day! i didn't manage to go for any count down - was feeling under the weather and plus, impending exams dampened my mood. just went for a buffet with my family - the lazy kind. ala carte buffet!! u just sit and circle, and food appears in droves. oh my, there was just sooo much food, i think i had 4 desserts to myself! crap, i think i've been eating so much recently, my atheromas must be ready to burst. anws, as the fireworks exploded at marina bay (i could hear it from my house), i peered out my window to see the most interesting sight! there were these strange lights tt flew into the night sky.. they looked like little fireworks ready to explode in all their glory, except they didn't. instead their brightness intensified to a steady pink glow, and they just flew around. UFOs? i dunno. some of them then landed on a ship. hot stuff!
fast forward to after patho!!! met my jc class for lunch! we headed down to cluny court, all ready to pounce on the delicious burgers at relish hungry as we were after exhausting much glucose during the brain sapping patho exams. sadly, those pple at relish decided they needed a day off after toiling much on new year's day. oooh well!
in the end, we went to this quaint lil cafe called honey and milk at binjai park. the place was small, and the owner was really friendly. had a cheap bowl of pho, which was pretty good! though lunch was short, we had a really good talk b4 yx flew off to brisbane :)in the afternoon, tea was beckoning as the damn cofm lectures bored us to tears. we drove down to this place in dempsey called house/barracks/camp. it is a 3-in-1 concept kinda restaurant, which is really cool! i liked the decor, with the huge full panelled glass windows over looking a great many greenery even though pretty much everyone else seemed to disagree. ok, this pix does not capture what i am trying to depict, but i am sure yr vivid imagination can paint a mental pix

my dessert was a green tea tiramisu, errr, i think. it was good, but apparently, not good enough for me to actually remember what it tasted like. ooops.
yup, have been doing my community health project (CHP) these days. quite busy partly cuz i am a subgroup leader, but its a welcome break from the hospital. its fun getting to interact and work with pple once again. feels more human than in the hospital somehow.
nope, no new year resolutions. what's the point when pple all live for the moment anyway?
